Kodiax
iOS app for sport with your dog, designed and shipped solo to the App Store in October 2026. No account, no server: no data collected, everything stays on the iPhone and in Apple Health.
Why I built it
When you run, hike or ride with your dog, the real question isn't distance: it's whether it's too hot for them, and where they'll be able to drink. Kodiax gives hour-by-hour heat for you and for your dog (green light, caution, avoid) and suggests loops from home that go past water points.
What the app does
Hour-by-hour heat, from the dog's point of view
WeatherKit forecasts turned into green light, caution or avoid, for you and for your dog, to pick the right time to head out.
Loops with water points
Loops generated from home with MapKit, routed past water points so the dog can drink.
Live tracking on the lock screen
Workouts recorded (distance, elevation, map) with a Live Activity on the lock screen, and saved to Apple Health through HealthKit.
Training plans, widgets and Siri
Trail, canicross and hiking plans, WidgetKit widgets and Siri shortcuts. You can manage up to 4 dogs.
